The Saudi Spine Society is a multidisciplinary scientific association that aims to promote spine care in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its membership includes all disciplines involved in the prevention, management and rehabilitation of all spine related diseases.

These specialties include neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, anesthesia, physical medicine and rehabilitation, radiology, neurology, neurophysiology, neuronavigation, physiotherapy, nursing, chiropractic medicine and alternative medicine. There are 3 types of membership in the Saudi Spine Society: Active, Associate, and Honorary memberships.

Active Membership

Requirements

  • Qualification in one of the predetermined specialties of interest to the society
  • Valid registration in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
  • Reside in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or one of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
  • Payment of the registration and annual subscription fees (2016 is free)

All applications shall go through the approval of the society’s Board of Directors

Associate Membership

Requirements

  • Non residence of Saudi Arabia/GCC who hold qualification in one of the predetermined specialties of interest to the society
  • Health practitioners who hold qualification other than the predetermined specialty of interest to the society
  • Students of medical colleges, allied medical and other colleges of the predetermined specialty of interest to the society
  • Health practitioners who are interested in the areas the society whose qualifications do not meet the active membership requirements
  • Payment of the discounted associate membership fees (2016 is free)
  • 50% discount on membership fees.
  • All applications shall go through the approval of the society’s Board of Directors

Associate members will have the right to attend the General Assembly meeting and participate in various committees of the society. However, they will not have the rights to vote.

 

Honorary Membership

Honorary membership is bestowed by the Board of Directors to recognized leaders in the field of spine care and who gave recognizable support the society. Honorary members shall be exempted from the annual subscription fees. Honorary members will have the right to attend the General Assembly meeting and participate in various committees of the society. However, they will not have the rights to vote.
